Telescoping - RO Membranes
Advanced Reverse Osmosis Technology
Telescoping - Longitudinal unraveling of spiral
wound elements which results in the RO membrane leaves extending
beyond the spacing material between the leaves. Can be caused by
hydraulic surges or by temperature extremes. It is physically damaging
to the construction of the membrane element. Most manufactures install
anti-telescoping devices (ATD’s) on their elements. Depending
on severity, it may effect salt rejection.
